Laura appears on the scene

Laura began a YouTube channel around April of 2007.   A fascinating and turbulent story of creativity, ambition, eccentricity, and tumult would unfold over the following years.

On Sept. 06, 2011, Laura began her LauraDefined channel and the adventure began. 

The controversial replygirl formula was already in place.  Laura may not have created the formula, but she mastered it and took it to amazing heights. She would go on to do a lot more than just replies.

She would make some creative and unique videos, showing a passion for music, and expressing herself in beautiful and unusual ways.  She would also experience the so-called internet hate machine.

She danced to music, and made some sexy videos.  If you got it, flaunt it, and sometimes she did

The following November more successful channels were to come.  The famous LauraSparkling channel began on Nov. 03, 2011, followed by the LauraTickled channel on Nov. 06, 2011.  LaurasTherapy began on  Nov. 12, 2011. The LauraPlushy channel began on Nov. 25, 2011, and LauraBlissful began on Nov. 29, 2011.

The LauraPlushy channel ended in March, 2012.
 

On APRIL 21, 2012:  LaurasTherapy, LauraBlissful, LauraDefined, LauraTickled, and LauraSparkling all were closed AND the LauraCharming channel was opened.

Just over a week later the LauraCaptures channel began.

A month later, in May, the LauraCaptures channel ends, and Laurawinning begins.  LauraCapturing begins on June, 2012.

The ReplyGirl phenomenon

The ReplyGirl phenomenon began with Alejandra Gaitain who created a YouTube channel titled “TheReplyGirl” on July 18th, 2011.

Chrissie Barmore says that she is the first and original reply girl, although there is no proof or evidence of her claim.

All of the ReplyGirls, including Laura, received a lot of negative feedback and internet hate.

Bullies

Some people were annoyed and even infuriated by the replygirl phenomenon.  The replygirl phenomenon finally ended with the algorithm change.

But some people became obsessed with bullying Laura (as well as Alejandra aka TheReplyGirl).

When normal people see something they don't enjoy on YouTube or elsewhere, they move on.   But a pathological group of bullies and sickos began following everything Laura does.

Laura made some creative and unique videos, she showed passion for music, and expressed herself in beautiful and unusual ways.  The bullies can't stand it.  They stalk and harass Laura for no reason... sometimes trying to rationalize or create some ridiculous "reason" for being evil to another human being.

Laura opened a Twitter account on October 10, 2011, after opening the LauraDefined and LauraSparkling YouTube channel.  She proceeded to have fun with Twitter,



Two days after the LauraSparkling channel opened, Laura joined Facebook on November 05, 2011, where she has posted her videos and links to internet activism causes. 

The next day, the LauraTickled channel opened.  LaurasTherapy opened a few days later, followed by LauraPlushy almost a couple weeks after.


"I'm living vicariously through social media sites"


Sometime in November of 2011, Laura opened a Tumblr to blog on, and to keep a sort of public diary.

"check out my new tumblr layout pretty sweet!"

She ended up deleting all the posts from 2011 and many from 2012.

Last October she left a colorful and descriptive message that seems to be sort of cryptic and sums up her time online:

Creepers

So what is a creeper anyway?  Many people consider it to be a pervert or stalker type.


onlineslangdictionary describes it as:

a weird or disturbed person. From "creep".

"Creeping" can sometimes be a mild form of stalking. Getting "creeped on" is when the creeper is therefore using his creep-skills to freak you out.

urbandictionary describe it as:

A person who does weird things, like stares at you while you sleep, or looks at you for hours through a window. usually a close friend or relative. you know right away if that person is a creeper or does creeper things. it is not hard to spot the creeper.

an offensively unimaginative word devised by tacky, braindead college students to describe people they deem sinister, indecorous, uncouth, or otherwise unpleasant.

Ultimate Trolling

The last reply videos that Laura uploaded were different.  After the YouTube algorithm change, and having grown tired of the whole replygirl saga and of all the hate, she uploaded replies to popular and trending videos that clearly showed she didn't care.  Part of the replygirl formula is showing cleavage and there was none of that.   She was irreverent and whimsical, very random and unrestrained, playful and even flippant.  She admitted she didn't like or care about most of the videos, and demonstrated how tiring or boring making lots of reply videos can be.  Sometimes she yawned.  She was saucy, and sometimes odd.  Sometimes she rambled.   Sometimes she was incredibly animated, making faces or doing impressions.  She was very funny.

Saying that the popular videos sucked, yawning, or being very random and frivolous infuriated some people.  Some people took offense at hearing a video they loved was dumb, they didn't get that these reply videos were actually a statement on her experience with the replygirl formula and an expression of her disdain for all the haters and creepers.    There was an algorithm change which would affect the future of reply videos and she had already made some real money doing replies.  So these last reply videos were like a goodbye to replies, and a final slap in the face to all the haters.  They certainly got some attention and the funniest thing of all is how some people got incredibly trolled into anger and rage. 

Replies were over.  Laura went on to do others things and eventually these channels faded away with the videos becoming private and then disappearing.
